Asian Style Short Rib of Beef

Short rib of beef must be braised slowly as its an amazing way to cook this and you really benefit from the low and slow process. Paired up with some Asian ingredients, this makes for a perfect recipe. This beef is rich, bold and gutsy, I love it! A winter warmer like no other.



Serves 6

2-3kg Shot rib of beef (approx bone in) 3 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp salt
1 tbsp cracked black pepper

4 white onions, cut into 8ths 4 garlic cloves
100g ginger
1 tbsp red miso

3 star anise
1 tbsp sichuan peppercorns, crushed 1 tsp chilli flakes
75ml dark soy
2 pints beef stock
